Eugenia W. Zobel is best known for her “Porcelain Painting.” As a dedicated artist, her natural ability is truly impacted through her paintings. She has always had a real interest in art and started painting on Porcelain about 40 years ago.
As a resident of the Livermore-Valley for the past 45 years, grapes, flowers, and animals are her favorite and most requested subjects to enhance homes of her patrons. The limitations and great skill required by the porcelain artist, is little known to the average purchaser of the completed work. Some of her work must be “Fired” up to as many as six times, before the proper colors are achieved to her satisfaction.
“Porcelain painting is a very old form of art that originated in China, then making its way to Europe, such as Dresden, Severs, Limoges and others. My interest in porcelain painting is the surprise results after each “Firing” and many different “Techniques” available to the Artist. My fascination is to start with a blank piece of porcelain, and study what will be pleasing to admirers of art, be it ‘Fruits or Flowers’.”, says Eugenia.
With Eugenia, participants will paint violets on a small porcelain plate. All materials will be provided. The 3-Day workshop will be executed on Saturday October 7, Sunday October 15, and Saturday October 21 from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
