My name is Joo. I am an artist living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was born in Korea. I have been inspired by people’s faces since I was young. All of my works feature Korean nature and my childhood there. The last 10 years have been mixed with modern America. I create art using many materials. I mainly do 2D work using mixed media, oil, acrylic, and watercolor.
I completed a four-year degree in art in Korea and graduated with an MBA. In the US, I received a ‘Drawing and Paint’ certificate from DVC. I have worked as a character designer and game graphic designer for 10 years.
My portraits are not of real people, I paint people from my imagination. When I rest, I usually create abstract paintings. I have been working in the United States since 2014 and have been exhibiting my work in several exhibitions.
