5th Annual Children's Summer Art Workshop
Painting from a Still Life
July 9 & 10, 9 AM - 12 Noon

Fee including materials: $45 per child
The Pleasanton Art League will present its fifth annual Children's Summer
Art Workshop. In this two-day workshop for children 9 years and older,
students will learn how to set up a painting and progress through the various
steps to complete it. Using acrylic paints, they will learn traditional
painting techniques including underpainting, glazing, and scumbling. Additionally
they will learn how to mix colors, and techniques to blend color in their
paintings.

Early registration is encouraged, as this workshop will be limited to 20
students. Additional interested students will be placed on a waiting list
in case of cancellations.
This workshop is made possible by a grant from
the Alameda County Arts Commission.
Kim Lordier: 2-Day Pastel Landscape Workshop
July 26 & 27, 2008
9 AM to 4 PM
Pleasanton, CA
Fee: $185
This 2-day workshop will stress key elements of picture making with
emphasis on composition, value, color and edge control. Kim will present
a demonstration each day and you will have structured time at your easel.
Workshop enrollment is limited to 16.
Kim Fancher Lordier, a graduate of the Academy of Art University,
San Francisco combines keen observation and sensitivity to her award winning
landscapes. Inspired by the California Impressionists and Tonalists,
Kim Lordier paints in the plein air tradition to capture the beauty, depth
and enery of the land and sea. She is currently a Signature Member
of the Laguna Plein Air Painters, the Pastel Society of the West Coast,
and an Artist Member of the California Art Club. Lordier recently
received the The Laguna Plein Air Painters First Place Award and the
Pastel Journal Grand Prize. Her work has been featured in the Pastel
Journal, American Artist and Southwest Art. For
