Bruce Ruark
Watercolor
Bruce Ruark is an avid Plein Air painter living in Dublin, California,
who specializes in painting local scenes and cityscapes. He works
in watercolor and paints outdoors twice each week with the Tri-Valley
Tuesday Painters and with the Jade Fon Group on Saturdays. With the
painting groups, Bruce has traveled all over the San Francisco Bay
area painting the Golden Gate Bridge, the Japanese Tea Garden, Benicia,
Martinez, Mt. Diablo and local Livermore and Pleasanton cityscapes.
Local vineyard landscapes such as Wente's, Concannon, Bent Creek
and Retzlaff are often a source of Bruce's work and many are currently
on display with the Pleasanton Art League and Livermore Art Association
circuits.
Bruce has been interested in art for many years. He received a
B.S. in Graphic Design at the University of Louisville, Kentucky.
He was a Product Designer of Major Appliances for General Electric
Company. Now he is a full-time painter.
Bruce is a member of the Pleasanton Art League, the Livermore Art
Association, the California Watercolor Association and the Kentucky
Watercolor Society. Bruce has been juried in numerous art shows in
Kentucky and California, winning many awards.
The Pleasanton Hotel on Main Street is currently displaying Bruce's
landscapes in the main hallway. Bruce is also represented by The
