Watercolor
The freeness of watercolor has always intrigued me. My painting experiences have run the gamut from feeling the need to make a realistic representation, to starting the creative process by letting the paint flow dictate the subject, to a combination of structure and flow. I paint with watercolor and acrylics, but prefer the liquidity of watercolor.
My paintings are eclectic as far as style and subject. My favorite
subjects are plants; other subjects include landscapes and historical
buildings. I've been commissioned to paint portraits of cats and
dogs.
I am also an author and illustrator. Recent projects I especially
enjoyed were writing and illustrating three books for children: Randi's
Pesky Picnic and Angel the Beddy-bye Cat (both rhyming
ABC stories), and The Counting Fair, a rhyming numbers story.
Another project involved illustrating a book called Nature's
Wonders, Poems for Young People, written by Alan Kasparian.
