Oils
Heidi's love of art and drawing date back to her early childhood years. While
drawn to the arts, she initially pursued a business career and entered the
world of banking. However, during this time she remained passionate about art
and continued to paint in her spare time as well as visit museums and galleries.
She is currently in the graduate program at the Academy of Art University in
San Francisco, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Her studies at the academy have
focused on traditional paintings skills studying from the Old Masters. Her
academic training at the Academy has increased her appreciation of figurative
art as well as portraiture. She has lived in the bay area most of her life
and currently resides in Pleasanton with her husband, Bob, and their Bichon
Frise, Bogie.
Heidi says, "I am continually fascinated with the
way light flows over an object, whether it is early morning sun lighting
up the side of a building or light cascading over a fresh vase of
flowers. I find myself drawn to dramatic lighting and I love the
way light can change the feeling of a place or situation at a certain
time of day. My goal in painting is to capture the essence or mood
of the scene, as I experience it. I hope that my paintings will also
take the viewer on this journey." |
