In 1975, I was introduced to painting by my late husband, Dick.
When I began to paint, I felt transported into
a kind of paradise. I felt free, happy and peaceful. I studied on my
own as well as at the Art Students League in NewYork, NY.
I admire the Renaissance painters, Rembrandt and Valasquez, as well
as 20th century painters Cezanne and Picasso. I have studied their
paintings and have been intrigued with the chiaroscuro of Rembrandt
and the magnificent colors of Cezanne.
I believe you must have a concept in mind when you begin a painting
and every brushstroke is geared to that concept. My goal is to create
beauty, harmony, taste and sensitivity as well as good will and pleasure
to my viewers.
I was educated at Marylawn of the Oranges, South Orange, NJ, Katherine
Gibbs School, Montclair, NJ and the Art Students League, NY.
I have had exhibits at the Art Students League Concours, Waterloo
Art Center (solo exhibition), KOR Gallery, Graystone Gallery, Karma
Gallery, and Arte Novello. Since recently moving to Livermore, I
have exhibited at the US Bank Show.
Memberships include Art Students League (Life Member), Livermore
Art Association and the Pleasanton Art League. |
