Watercolor
I'm a watercolorist whose style is very textural. I love the challenge
of painting wood, rocks and buildings. My paintings are very colorful,
and I try to infuse a contrast of light and dark in my compositions.
Watercolor allows me to be creative in my process of paint application
from bright, loose underpainting to tight, textural brush strokes
for the final layer. I paint memories of places I have seen that
evoke the senses so that the viewer is also "in the moment."
Hopefully, I have been successful in capturing the essence of the
various places and subjects that I have chosen to paint.
A native of the California Bay Area, I graduated from San Jose State
University with a degree in Social Science, and also earned a post-graduate
teaching credential. After a long hiatus from high school art classes,
I resumed drawing and painting classes at local community colleges
and studied under local artists. |
