Pushpa Dalal
Photography
Pushpa once described her photography as a beautiful, delicate
plant that bloomed after being dormant many years. This plant is
now firmly rooted – a special hybrid that Pushpa tends tirelessly,
prunes constantly, and grafts using various graphic design skills
acquired at the Las Positas College Visual Communications (VCOM)
program. Pushpa's imagination and perseverance, with patient guidance
from her mentors, Fredda Cassidy, head faculty VCOM at Las Positas
College and Kate Jordahl, Photography Professor and Head Foothill
College, and a little help from the Universe, will determine how
and when this plant reaches its full potential as an exquisite bonsai.
By observing her friends at Pleasanton Art League and Livermore
Art Association, Pushpa learns the fine nuances of the visual arts
in other mediums.
In the last two years she has successfully exhibited two one-woman
shows: "Vignettes from Tri-Valley Wineries" at Garre Wineries,
where she showcased the beauty of the Tri-Valley vineyards; and "Color,
Light and Movement" at the Barbara Mertes Center for the
Arts, Las Positas College. This show was described as "a visual treat."
