Watercolor/Acrylics
"Art is a reflection of what we observe around us, like the changing seasons
of the landscape and the play of light and shadow on water. In my art, I
want to share with the viewer my response to the scene by deciding on color,
contrast and design in watercolor and acrylic paint. I want to get the scene
down on paper before my feelings change. Enjoying the recording of each painted
scene and learning from the effort is also a large part of my painting journey.
"My journey in art began with the passion of drawing as a young
child. I
took classes and designed posters for the musical shows that we put
on in high school. After getting married and moving to Pleasanton,
Ca., I finished a B.S. and a teaching credential at CSU East Bay. I
continued my art by designing and teaching decorative art at national
conventions and local shops. This was my
hobby while I taught high school and raised my children.
"I also took art classes at local colleges and with local
teachers. I have won awards at local shows and I paint with a plein
air group with the Pleasanton Art League. I am currently showing
with the PAL circuit and through the web site Poetry
on Canvas." |
